Meta AI pricing questions

Meta AI is free for everyday use. Meta One Core costs A$11 a month and Premium A$30. Business plans start at A$23 (Essential), A$77 (Advanced), A$229 (Expert) and A$769 (Max) a month per profile. These are the AUD prices Australian press reported at launch.

Yes. Meta AI stays free for everyday use in Meta's apps and at meta.ai. Meta One Core and Premium are optional paid bundles that add more Meta AI image and video generation.

No. Facebook Pages and business Instagram accounts cannot subscribe to Premium; it is for personal accounts. Businesses buy Essential, Advanced, Expert or Max, priced per profile, with team access for up to 4, 8 or 30 other people on the top three.

Meta One is bought in the mobile apps and billed monthly through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Meta publishes no GST statement for it, and no annual price.

Muse Code, Meta's terminal coding agent, costs US$5, US$15, US$50 or US$200 a month. It is billed monthly with no refunds on cancellation. When a plan's limit is reached, you upgrade or wait for the limit to reset.

Muse Spark costs US$1.25 per million input tokens and US$4.25 per million output tokens in Standard mode, and Muse Wonder US$4 and US$20. The API bills in arrears on a card, when a payment threshold is reached and on the 1st of each month. There is no hard spending cap, only an alert, and refunds are not available.

Meta AI has stayed free. Meta tested paid subscriptions in May 2026, with Premium at US$20, and launched Meta One worldwide on 15 September 2026 at US$7.99 for Core and US$20 for Premium. Muse Code plans launched on 31 August 2026, and Maximum Usage at US$200 on 12 October 2026.

Meta AI pricing sources and methodology

Meta One prices are the AUD figures Australian press reported from Meta's launch briefing on 15 September 2026 (Mediaweek, AdNews, SmartCompany, Mumbrella and Tech Guide). Meta's own plans page renders its prices by script and could not be read, so no price is confirmed on a Meta page or an Australian checkout. The business plans are starting prices: Meta says plans and pricing vary by region, app and account. Meta publishes no GST statement; Meta One is billed through the app stores, so its prices are taken as including GST, which is an inference.

Estimates from the reported AUD prices, taken as including GST. Free, Core and Premium serve one person each. The business plans are priced per profile, with each extra profile at the plan's price again, and cover the account holder plus the other people Meta's team access allows: 4 on Advanced, 8 on Expert and 30 on Max. Meta gives no team access figure for Essential, so it is taken as one person. Company size assumes every employee needs access to one business profile. API tokens are priced on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides, in US dollars converted to AUD at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 1.447 AUD, 15 October 2026). Muse Code is priced in US dollars and is not priced by the calculator.

Meta's help page shows Muse Code prices without a currency code. They are taken as US dollars from Meta's developer blog, which prices the Model API in US dollars. Whether Australians are charged in AUD is not known.

The API table comes from the same data as Ensurva's AI price guides, read from Meta's own pricing pages, in US dollars per million tokens. Contributor mode prices are left out of the table because they trade price for Meta training on your content; they are listed under offers.

Meta's own announcements and developer blog, plus CNBC's report of Meta's May 2026 test. They give US dollar prices only, so the chart is US list prices, monthly, before tax; the Australian prices above are what Australians pay today. No archived Australian dollar prices exist.

Drawn from how Meta charges, not from records of negotiated deals.

Ensurva collected 15 public comments on Meta AI's pricing from people identifiably in Australia between June and October 2026, on 16 October 2026. All came from agencies, marketing consultancies, the business press and one App Store reviewer, and none from a confirmed Meta One customer, so the section is left off the page. Most were about the business plans rather than Meta AI itself.

Checked monthly against Meta's own pages and Australian press.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.

Prices are estimates from the AUD prices reported at Meta One's Australian launch and Meta's published US dollar prices on the date shown. Check the price in the Meta app before buying.
