Every dated comment came before The X Subscription, and most were about SuperGrok bought in the iPhone app: image, video and usage limits cut for the same A$50 a month, and SuperGrok Heavy at A$500 a month seen as poor value. One customer reported being billed for the same plan through both the App Store and Stripe. On OzBargain, commenters noted the in-app price of a discounted SuperGrok month sat well above the web price. The positive comments were about discounted SuperGrok deals and prepaid API credits that do not expire.

Grok pricing questions

Grok Free costs nothing. Plus is A$12 a month, Premium A$46, Super A$150 and Ultra A$310, before tax, or A$120, A$460, A$1,500 and A$3,100 paid yearly. Teams seats are US$30, US$100 or US$200 a month, and Enterprise is quoted.

Yes, for Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra: grok.com shows Australian visitors AUD prices, and the Australian App Store sells in AUD. Teams seats are priced in US dollars only, and the Grok API is billed in US dollars.

No. grok.com shows prices before applicable taxes and fees. X Subscription Corp, which sells the subscriptions, collects GST or similar taxes where they apply. The rate added at checkout is not stated.

On 12 October 2026 SpaceXSI replaced SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium sign-ups with The X Subscription, which bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium benefits. Existing SuperGrok, Grok Business, Cursor and X Premium plans continue until changed. The Australian App Store still lists SuperGrok at A$50 a month or A$500 a year.

Teams seats cost the same as the matching individual tier: US$30 a month for Premium, US$100 for Super and US$200 for Ultra. Seats can be mixed, a team can have one person or many, and Plus is not available for teams. The workspace shares one prepaid top-up balance.

Each paid plan has a weekly usage pool shared across Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor. Past it, use is paid from prepaid top-up credit, with optional auto top-up and an optional monthly spending cap. Third-party models in Cursor draw on that credit at API list price from the first request.

The API is billed separately from any plan, in US dollars per million tokens. Grok 4.7 is US$2 for input, US$0.50 for cached input and US$6 for output. Paid plans include API access, but API use does not draw on the plan's weekly pool.

In US dollars, SuperGrok launched in February 2025 at US$30 a month and SuperGrok Heavy in July 2025 at US$300. X Premium+, which included Grok, rose from US$16 to US$22 in December 2024 and to US$40 in February 2025. The X Subscription replaced them on 12 October 2026 at US$8, US$30, US$100 and US$200 a month in the US.

Grok pricing sources and methodology

From grok.com/plans as shown to an Australian visitor on 16 October 2026, and SpaceXSI's X Subscription docs. Prices are shown before applicable taxes and fees, so prices here exclude GST. Annual per month is each plan's yearly price divided by 12; grok.com rounds these to A$10, A$39, A$125 and A$259.

Estimates from list prices, excluding GST. Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra serve one person each, and Teams is priced only in US dollars, so two or more people are not estimated. Extra usage is added at cost. API tokens are priced on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides, in US dollars converted to AUD at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 1.447 AUD, 15 October 2026); no plan includes API credits. Company size assumes every employee gets a seat. Enterprise is quoted and is not priced.

SuperGrok, SuperGrok Lite, Plus and Heavy in the Australian App Store, and Grok Business, are listed as additional costs, not plans: since 12 October 2026 new customers start on The X Subscription. Whether a new Australian customer can still buy the in-app SuperGrok plans was not tested.

The API table comes from the same data as Ensurva's AI price guides, read from SpaceXSI's own pricing pages, in US dollars per million tokens.

Not charted. The X Subscription plans launched on 12 October 2026, and the plans before them (SuperGrok, X Premium) were different products, so there is no earlier price for these plans. US prices of the earlier plans come from SpaceXSI's announcements and press reports, and are in the pricing questions.

Drawn from how SpaceXSI charges, not from records of negotiated deals.

29 public comments on Grok's pricing from people identifiably in Australia between 27 April and 7 October 2026, from the Australian App Store, OzBargain and Reddit, collected by Ensurva on 16 October 2026. 17 are by confirmed customers. Every dated comment is about the plans before The X Subscription, mostly SuperGrok bought in the iPhone app. Mixed comments count as neutral. App Store reviews are counted as Australian because they come from the Australian store. The two Reddit comments were read through an archive mirror that shows no date or author. Cards are paraphrases of comments by confirmed customers; the full classified set is stored with the page's data.

Checked monthly against SpaceXSI's own pages.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.

Prices are estimates from SpaceXSI's published list prices on the date shown. Check grok.com before buying.
