Google sells Gemini to Australians two ways, both in Australian dollars. Google AI plans (Plus, Pro and Ultra) are for one person each, on personal Google Accounts only. Google Workspace Business editions include Gemini for 1 to 300 users and are how Google sells it to businesses. Workspace prices exclude GST; Google does not say whether the Google AI plan prices include it. Gemini Enterprise, a separate agent platform, is priced in US dollars, and the Gemini API is priced per million tokens.

Most comments came from OzBargain threads on Google's June 2026 price cut, which took Google AI Plus to A$7.99 a month with more storage, and most of those welcomed it. Others weighed Google AI Pro at about A$33 a month against ChatGPT, discussed student offers of Pro at A$8.49 a month, and noted that Google AI plans billed in US dollars in some other countries cost less than the Australian price. A few suspected the cuts were meant to win sign-ups before prices rise.

Gemini pricing questions
Gemini without a plan costs nothing. Google AI Plus is A$7.99 a month, Google AI Pro A$33, and Google AI Ultra A$150 or A$330 depending on its limits. In Google Workspace, Business Starter is A$9.90, Standard A$20 and Plus A$31 a user a month on an annual plan, or A$12, A$24 and A$37 on the Flexible plan, excluding GST.
Not on a business account. Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra can only be bought on personal Google Accounts, and Google points Workspace customers to Workspace editions and add-ons instead. For a business, Gemini comes with Google Workspace Business Starter, Standard or Plus.
Workspace prices do not: Google's Australian page says they exclude tax, and Google Australia adds 10% GST for an Australian business address. Google does not say whether the Google AI plan prices include GST. App Store purchases are billed by Apple, whose Australian prices include GST.
Business Standard and above. Business Starter has Gemini in Gmail and basic Gemini app access only. Standard adds Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Vids, Drive, Meet and Chat, at A$20 a user a month on an annual plan or A$24 on the Flexible plan.
On Workspace, an annual commitment costs about 16% less than the Flexible plan and is still billed monthly. Google AI Plus is A$80 a year in the Australian App Store. A yearly price for Google AI Pro has been reported but is not shown on a Google page.
Google's US page says Google AI Pro includes US$10 a month of Google Cloud credits through the Google Developer Program, and Ultra US$40 or US$100. Whether Australian subscribers get them was not confirmed, so this page does not count them against API costs.
The API is priced per million tokens, in US dollars, and billed through Google Cloud Billing from a minimum prepaid top-up of US$5. Gemini 3.8 Flash is US$0.75 for input and US$3.75 for output; Gemini 4 Argon is US$2 and US$10 until 30 November 2026, then US$4 and US$20; Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite is US$0.30 and US$2.50.
Google AI Pro has been A$33 a month since it was Gemini Advanced in 2024. On 16 January 2025 Google put Gemini into Workspace Business plans and raised Business Standard from US$12 to US$14. In June 2026 Google AI Plus fell from about A$12 to A$7.99, and the single Ultra plan at A$410 became two tiers at A$150 and A$330.

Workspace prices exclude GST: Google's Australian page says so, and Google Australia adds 10% GST for an Australian business address. Google's Australian subscriptions page carries no tax wording for Google AI plans, so whether those include GST is not known. Every price on this page is treated as excluding GST, which may overstate the GST-free cost of a Google AI plan.
Estimates from list prices. Google AI plans serve one person each on a personal account, so two or more people are priced on Google Workspace, monthly on the Flexible plan and yearly on the annual commitment. AI credit top-ups are added at cost. API tokens are priced on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides, in US dollars converted to AUD at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 1.447 AUD, 15 October 2026), with no Google Cloud credits taken off. Company size assumes every employee gets a Workspace user. Workspace Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise are not priced.

19 public comments on Gemini's pricing from people identifiably in Australia between 4 May and 6 September 2026, almost all from OzBargain and one from Reddit, collected by Ensurva on 16 October 2026. 6 are by confirmed customers, none of them negative. Mixed comments count as neutral. OzBargain posters are taken as Australian from the site's audience and their AUD prices. Reddit searches for Gemini were blocked by rate limits, so coverage is partial and the sample is small. Cards are paraphrases of comments by confirmed customers; the full classified set is stored with the page's data.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.
