Qwen pricing questions
Qwen Chat is free, and the App Store sells Go, Plus and Pro at £3.99, £19 and £88 a month. Token Plans for one developer are £6 to £60 a month. Token Plan Team seats are £22, £75 or £150 a seat a month. Coding Plan Pro is £37 a month. Model Studio prices exclude tax.
It does not say for United Kingdom. Its Payment and Tax Terms say fees exclude taxes such as VAT required by law, and an account without a Tax ID may be taxed as a consumer sale. UK accounts contract with Alibaba.com (Europe) Limited. Prices here are before any tax.
Only in the App Store. Model Studio prices are in US dollars, with settlement supported in other major currencies. GBP figures here are converted at the ECB reference rate of 16 October 2026.
Token Plan is a monthly Credits quota for developer tools: Personal plans for one person, and Team seats with multi-seat management, usage analytics, and data not used for model training. Coding Plan Pro is £37 a month for a fixed number of requests, sold in limited quantities, and Alibaba recommends Token Plan instead.
On a Personal plan the service pauses until the quota resets, unless you buy Extra Bundles of 20,000 Credits at £11 a month each, up to 5. On Team, that seat's API calls are blocked; shared quota packs of 625,000 Credits cost £525 a month.
Per million tokens on the International deployment: Qwen3.8-Max is US$2 input and US$6 output, Qwen3.7-Plus US$0.40 and US$1.60, and Qwen3.8-Flash US$0.15 and US$0.47. Batch calls are half the real-time price and cache hits 10% of the input price.
Yes. New Model Studio users get 1 million free tokens per eligible model for 90 days, in the Singapore region only. After that, calls are billed pay as you go unless Free Quota Only is switched on.
Not in the observations found. Token Plan Team seats were US$30, US$100 and US$200 in June 2026, and Personal plans US$8 to US$80 in September 2026, as today. Coding Plan Pro was US$50 in February 2026; Coding Plan Lite, last US$10, closed to new buyers on 20 March 2026.
Qwen pricing sources and methodology
From Alibaba Cloud Model Studio's help pages on 18 October 2026, in US dollars before tax, and the Qwen app's in-app purchases on the United Kingdom App Store, in GBP as Apple sets them. Qwen Chat's web prices need a login and were not read.
The United Kingdom App Store lists Go, Plus and Pro as monthly subscriptions at £3.99, £19 and £88. They are in GBP on a US dollar page, so they are listed but not priced by the calculator.
Estimates from list prices before tax, in US dollars converted to GBP at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 0.74989 GBP, 16 October 2026). Personal Token Plans, the Coding Plan and Qwen Chat serve one person each, so two or more people are priced on Token Plan Team seats, from 1 seat because Alibaba states no minimum. Extra Bundles and shared quota packs are added at list price. API tokens are priced on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides, with no free quota deducted. Company size assumes every employee gets a seat. Limited-time prices are not used.
Alibaba Cloud's Payment and Tax Terms say fees exclude tax required by law; it publishes no UK VAT rule, so prices here are before any tax.
Token Plan is sold only in Alibaba Cloud's Singapore region, and Alibaba Cloud does not list which customer countries can buy it, so it is taken as available to UK accounts. UK accounts contract with Alibaba.com (Europe) Limited.
The API table comes from the same data as Ensurva's AI price guides, read from Alibaba Cloud's own pricing pages for the International deployment, in US dollars per million tokens. Other regions list different prices.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.
