Kimi pricing questions

Kimi's free plan costs nothing. Plus is NZ$34 a month, Pro NZ$69, Max NZ$175 and Ultra NZ$351, or about 20% less paid yearly. Kimi Business is NZ$1,059 a seat a year for 2 to 150 seats. Prices are before any tax.

Not on the web. Kimi's help centre states its prices in US dollars, and Extra Usage is billed in US dollars. The New Zealand App Store sells Plus at NZ$35 a month and Pro at NZ$69, priced by Apple.

Kimi does not say. Its API page says prices exclude tax, which is calculated at checkout by jurisdiction, and its invoice page names no New Zealand GST rule. Prices here are before any tax.

Yes, by about 20%. Plus is NZ$318 a year against NZ$403 paid monthly, and Ultra NZ$3,369 against NZ$4,216. Credits still refresh monthly with no rollover. Business is sold yearly only.

Subscribers can buy Extra Usage: prepaid top-ups in US dollars from NZ$18, deducted at rates close to API pricing. Funds do not expire, the balance is capped at NZ$3,531, and a monthly spending cap can be set.

A team plan for 2 to 150 seats at NZ$1,059 a seat a year, paid yearly only, with Kimi Work, Swarm, Dashboard, Plugins and Kimi Code. Business data is not used for model training by default. It runs on web and desktop; the mobile app supports personal plans only.

The API is pay as you go with no subscription, prepaid from US$1. Kimi K3 is US$3 per million input tokens and US$15 per million output tokens, with cached input at US$0.30. The API is separate from membership and from Kimi Code.

No US dollar change has been found. Plus launched at US$19 and Ultra at US$199 in September 2025, Pro was US$39 by October 2025 and Max US$99 by February 2026, the prices today. The plans were renamed from Moderato, Allegretto, Allegro and Vivace in late September 2026 at unchanged prices.

Kimi pricing sources and methodology

From kimi.com/membership/pricing and Kimi's help centre on 18 October 2026. The pricing page shows a bare "$" with the same figures to visitors from several countries; the help centre states US dollars. App Store prices in NZD are listed as an additional cost and in each plan's limits, not as plan prices.

Estimates from list prices before any tax, in US dollars converted to NZD at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 1.7656 NZD, 16 October 2026). Free, Plus, Pro, Max and Ultra serve one person each, so two or more people are priced on Kimi Business at US$50 a seat a month, its yearly price divided by 12, for at least 2 seats. Extra Usage is added at cost on the four paid personal plans; whether Business can buy it is not stated. API tokens are priced on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides. Company size assumes every employee gets a seat; past 150 seats no plan has a published price.

Kimi does not document New Zealand GST on web purchases, so prices here are before any tax.

Kimi does not publish a list of countries it sells to. Its pricing page loads with the same US dollar prices from abroad, and the Kimi app sells subscriptions on the New Zealand App Store, so it is taken as sold in New Zealand.

The API table comes from the same data as Ensurva's AI price guides, read from Moonshot AI's own pricing pages, in US dollars per million tokens.

No plan price history is kept for New Zealand. The US dollar history in the questions comes from press reports from AIbase and OFweek, a US App Store listing, a third-party pricing tracker and Kimi's own pages, read for the Australian page.

Drawn from how Moonshot AI charges, not from records of negotiated deals.

Left off the page. No public comments on Kimi's pricing from people in New Zealand have been collected yet.

Ordered by Ensurva's estimate of each vendor's share of business customers in this country. Only tools with their own Ensurva price guide are listed.

Checked monthly against Kimi's own pages.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.

Prices are estimates from Moonshot AI's published list prices on the date shown. Check kimi.com before buying.
