Meta AI pricing questions

Meta AI is free for everyday use. The Meta Model API costs US$1.25 per million input tokens and US$4.25 per million output tokens on Muse Spark, about C$1.77 and C$6.02, and US$4 and US$20 on Muse Wonder. Muse Code costs US$5, US$15, US$50 or US$200 a month.

Meta says Meta One plans are available globally, bought in the Facebook, Instagram and Meta AI mobile apps, with plans, pricing and availability that vary by region, app and account. Meta has published no Canadian price, so this page does not price Meta One. The price your account is offered is shown in the app before you subscribe.

Yes. Meta AI stays free for everyday use in Meta's apps and at meta.ai. Meta One Core and Premium are optional paid bundles that add more Meta AI image and video generation.

Yes. Meta expanded the Model API and Muse Code to developers around the world on 5 August 2026, and Canada is not among the restricted territories in Meta's Geographic Use Policy. Contributor mode pricing is available only in select countries, which Meta does not list.

In arrears on a card, in US dollars: when your balance reaches a payment threshold, and on the 1st of each month. There is no hard spending cap, only an email alert, and refunds are not available. Meta says nothing about GST/HST on these bills.

Muse Code, Meta's terminal coding agent, costs US$5, US$15, US$50 or US$200 a month. It renews monthly with no refund on cancellation unless the law requires one. When a plan's limit is reached, you upgrade or wait for the limit to refresh.

Meta AI pricing sources and methodology

From Meta's own developer pricing page, help pages and announcements, read on 18 October 2026. Meta's Model API is priced in US dollars and is available in Canada. Meta One is sold in the apps, but Meta's plans page renders its prices by script, and no Canadian price was found on a Meta page or in Canadian press, so Meta One is described and not priced.

Estimates at Standard mode rates on the chosen model from Ensurva's AI price guides, in US dollars converted to CAD at the European Central Bank reference rate (1 USD = 1.4161 CAD, 16 October 2026). Cached input and Contributor mode cost less than the estimate. There is no company size table, because the API is priced by use rather than by seat. Muse Code is listed under additional costs, not priced by the calculator.

Canada charges GST or HST, and QST in Quebec. Meta's developer pages say nothing about whether it is added to Model API or Muse Code bills, so amounts are shown before any tax.

The API table comes from the same data as Ensurva's AI price guides, read from Meta's own pricing pages, in US dollars per million tokens. Contributor mode prices are left out of the table because they trade price for Meta training on your content; they are listed under offers.

Meta's own pricing page and developer blog. Every price is in US dollars.

Drawn from how Meta charges, not from records of negotiated deals.

No public comments on Meta AI's pricing from Canadians were collected for this page, so the section is left off.

Checked monthly against Meta's own pages, including whether Meta has published a Canadian Meta One price.

The calculator's By use case tab puts each person on a seat that suits how heavily their role uses AI. Software developers use it most, about 15% of their working hours against about 6% across all workers (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, 2026), so they get the heavier seat where the plan has one. Content, support and finance staff fit a standard seat, and general office staff use AI least. Each automated job is priced at a typical size, about 100 tokens to 75 words: a support reply reads about 1,100 words and writes 200, and a contract summary reads 10,000 and writes 750. Decision jobs read the record and give a short typed answer: about 600 words to route a support ticket, 4,500 to check a document against a policy. Those sizes are Ensurva's own estimates. A model that writes no text, such as Jev, is priced on decision jobs only. Jobs are priced as API use on the vendor's default model, less any API credits the plan includes.

Prices are estimates from Meta's published US dollar prices on the date shown, converted at the stated rate. Check your Meta Model API billing page before relying on them.
