Best spend management software in Australia (2026)

Key takeaways

  • Most well-known spend management tools publish their prices in US dollars or euros, and are built for 150 or more employees.
  • For an Australian business the practical questions are size, coverage, and whether it works with the accounting platform you already use.
  • Agencies, contractors and suppliers are often a large share of what an Australian SME pays, and most tools here leave them out.
  • Ensurva is built for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, priced at A$99 a month including GST, and connects to Xero.

Most of the spend management tools you will find in a search were built in the US or Europe for large companies. That does not rule them out for an Australian business, but it changes the questions worth asking: what size of business it was built for, what it covers, what it costs in Australian dollars, and whether it works with the accounting platform you already run.

This guide compares the best-known options on those questions.

Prices are each vendor’s published or reported starting price, in the currency it is published in. They change often, and a US dollar price moves with the exchange rate, so confirm with the vendor before you buy.

What matters for an Australian business

  • Size. Most Australian businesses are a fraction of the size these tools were built for. Several assume 500 or more employees and a procurement or IT team to run them.
  • Currency and tax. A price in US dollars or euros moves with the exchange rate, and a price that excludes GST is not the price you pay. Check both before comparing.
  • Your accounting platform. A tool that builds its picture from your accounting data misses less of what you actually paid. Check that it connects to the platform you use.
  • Coverage. Software is rarely the whole bill. Agencies, contractors, consultants and suppliers often carry as much recurring spend, and most tools here track software only.

How we compared them

This comparison is drawn from each vendor’s public information: its website, pricing pages and announcements. We have not run trials of the other tools, so nothing here is a hands-on review. Ensurva is our product, built in Australia; it is first because this guide is written for the businesses it is built for, and where another tool is the better fit, we say so.

The options in detail

Ensurva

Best for: Australian, New Zealand and Singaporean businesses with 20 to 200 employees and no procurement function.

Ensurva connects to Xero and builds its picture from every past and current vendor payment. It covers software, service providers and suppliers together, captures contract terms in plain language, and tracks renewals across every vendor type. Billing is monthly, in Australian dollars, and the price includes GST: A$99 a month with every feature included, cancel any time, after a 14 day trial.

What it does not do: negotiate contracts for you, run purchase approval workflows, or report usage per licence.

Spendbase

Best for: teams that want software discounts with virtual cards and digital banking.

Spendbase is a digital banking and expense management platform with partner discounts and cloud credits, covering software and cloud spend. Its banking footprint is in the EU and UK. It has a free banking tier; its paid tier is a calculated deposit with no published figure.

Ensurva vs Spendbase

Sastrify

Best for: mid market teams with a procurement function, particularly with European compliance needs.

Sastrify offers software discovery, licence management and managed negotiation, priced in euros from about €12,500 a year per module, for 150 to 1,000 employees.

Ensurva vs Sastrify

Torii

Best for: IT teams managing application sprawl and identity governance at scale.

Torii covers SaaS and AI discovery, identity governance and cost optimisation, for 500 or more employees, from about US$10,000 a year.

Ensurva vs Torii

Vertice (now including Vendr)

Best for: finance and procurement teams already running a procurement process.

Vertice combines intake to procure workflows with expert negotiation and guaranteed savings, and acquired Vendr in June 2026. It publishes no prices; our compare page lists it from about US$10,000 a year.

Zylo

Best for: large organisations that need an enterprise system of record for SaaS and AI spend.

Zylo is built for 500 or more employees, from about US$20,000 a year, and publishes tier names but no prices.

Tropic

Best for: teams spending seven figures a year on software that want expert negotiators.

Tropic’s customers and regional focus are primarily in the US, and a presence outside it is not publicly confirmed. It starts at about US$3,167 a month.

A spreadsheet

Best for: fewer than 30 vendors, with one person who clearly owns the list.

Free, and fine at that scale. It falls behind once the list grows past what one person can keep current.

How to choose

  1. Compare in Australian dollars, including GST. Convert any US dollar or euro price at today’s rate, and add GST where it is not included.
  2. Check it fits your size. Under 200 employees with no procurement team, most of this list is oversized.
  3. Check it covers more than software, if agencies, contractors and suppliers are a real share of what you pay.
  4. Check the accounting connection with the platform you use.
